as of February 23

just a short entry...maybe. and prepare for an almost all-English entry.

okay first of all, let's take a minute to remind ourselves, especially Malaysians, of how fortunate we are to live in a country virtually free from natural disasters and government disputes.

alhamdulillah.

but also let's not forget the fact that there are others who aren't as fortunate as we are. of course if you're reading this moments after this is posted, you'll get that i meant two of the current biggest news in the world today : the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand; and of the uprising/revolution against PM Muammar Gaddafi in Libya.

i won't go into details about these news since they're already all over the internet (but just in case you're interested about the Libyan news, the live blog @ Al-Jazeera Blogs brings real-time updates). what really caught my interest from all these news is the fact that the internet was used to its huge potential in getting out information to all over the world. well actually technology in general.

we're living in a time where camera-and-video-enabled-cellphones and the internet are dominating the way information is shared to every part of the planet.

it's just...amazing. dude i feel so old talking like this but still, having a chance to live and witness all these events with my own eyes even though i'm in a different continent; it just spreads the idea that we, the people of the world, are actually concerned about one another.

my condolences go to the families who have had lost their loved ones in these tragedies.

/nadia yang sebenarnya tak reti nak express apa yang dia nak cakap. but this will do.
