siri My Family's Here! 1/5 : Arrival & Disneyland

seperti yang telah di-mention dulu, keluarga saya (minus sorang) datang sini some while ago. dan setelah saya berjaya mencari masa lapang untuk menghadap skrin nih, maka di sini saya post pasal trip mereka ke sini.
ada lima bahagian, mungkin lebih, dan heavily loaded with pictures.
haha.

15 November, Sabtu

pegi LAX ngan Nik, Elly, Nadzirah.
time ni berita pasal kebakaran kat California tengah rancak.

ni sikit scene pasal kebakaran tersebut.
agak dekat gak ngan tempat kitorang sebenarnya.


sampai LAX.
tunggu mi familia keluar.


orang lain yang menunggu.

dah lama tunggu tu, rasa cam pelik je. sebab tengok kat arrival board tu, flight dah sampai lama dah. siap tanya diorang lagi, "betul kan ari ni 15 haribulan?"
pastu cuba laa call Papa.
dan.
rupa-rupanya Papa kena tahan haha. sebab kastam kata ada orang ngan nama yang sama cam Papa dah masuk US lately, tu yang diorang check balik.

a few minutes later, mereka emerge --

TA-DAAAH~
wahaha mereka mereka mereka XDDD
time ni rasa takleh nak percaya (hampir) semua ada depan mata =3

salam-salam peluk-peluk sume, pastu Nik, Elly, Nadzirah balik dulu.
saya ngan family pegi tempat rent kereta.

naik shuttle untuk ke Thrifty car rental.


dah dapat kereta hureeei~


pastu tersekat dalam traffic jam yang sangat lama.
sebab kebakaran tulah.
but we had fun in the car. i can't remember what kind of fun, but it wasn't boring lah.

finally, sampai kat hotel (Best Western kat Diamond Bar, sort of 5-10 min drive dari umah saya).
dapat masuk bilik unload barang sume, tetiba Papa sort of misplaced his passport!!
rupa-rupanya tertinggal kat hotel lobby masa check-in tadi.

pegi Target nak beli toiletries and stuff.
saya meneman budak Athif tengok toys.

luar Target.


tolaaakkk.
time ni Athif merajuk sebab tak dapat mainan yang dia nak.
hahahahaaa.

then pegi dinner kat somewhere...tak ingat tempat, dan saya gagal fikir mana-mana tempat sebab my sense of direction is near to zero. hee. tapi dapat laa jugak makan, and then balik umah jap amek baju sebab obviously saya akan stay over ngan my family.
mwahaha.

agenda hari ini : DISNEYLAND!!
susunan kronologi untuk perkara-perkara yang berlaku kat Disneyland adalah tak teratur, sebab photo source ada tiga/empat, dan semuanya tak set masa ngan sama, haha XD

mesyuarat over breakfast.
"hm hm, ari ni kat Disneyland, kita kena aim tempat ni dulu, pastu..."


halo budak yang kurus kering tak cukup makan.
sila makan betul-betul.


dalam kereta, on the way to Disneyland.
for some reason, muka mereka macam tak cukup zat nutrisi.


keadaan masa kat jalan tadi.
kebakaran tu masih berjalan giat ari ni.
asap tebal, somehow very scary.

but traffic wasn't very bad, so we arrived safely and without any problems.

yayay dah sampai parking~

dia seolah-olah mengatakan :

lepas dah dapat tiket, of courselah kitorang gunakan tiket tu untuk masuk theme park. takkan nak buat penanda buku je kot kan.
masuk je gate tu, i felt weird.
sebab it felt like i've been here before...

"...well DUH. kan Mama dah bagitau, nilah Disneyland yang ko pegi masa ko tadika dulu," kata suara hati saya.

haha. really, time tadika dulu penah datang sini, this same exact Disneyland.
masa dulu tu ada Wafiq skali, tapi dia unfortunately tak ingat apa-apa sebab dia masih bayi lagi.
so sorry Wafiq. (tanpa nada simpati 100%)

Disneyland Railroad.
pintu masuk untuk naik kereta api yang akan membawa korang sekeliling perimeter Disneyland.

kereta api tu bawak korang ala merentas masa laa lebih kurang. i think.
ada de bawak ke Grand Canyon zaman prasejarah dulu, zaman red indian.

korang boleh turun memana stesen yang diorang berenti.
kami just buat satu pusingan penuh, balik ke Main Street tadi.

dan kami naik tram dua tingkat ni.
Mama ngan Athif duduk tingkat bawah.

masa nak tunggu tram tu jalan, ada this little marching band lalu.
dan at the back of the band ada Alice from Alice in Wonderland!!

ada cinema tengah tunjuk Steamboat Willie haha.


dan tempat pertama kami : Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland adalah kawasan di mana semua rides/attractions adalah berasaskan the future. so expect rockets, space exploration, robots, talking cars, etc.

first ride of the day : Star Tours.
kind of like a simulation ride -- pernah naik the helicopter ride kat Petrosains KLCC?
yeah this is like that, cuma situasi de :
korang naik spaceship yang dipandu oleh seekor sebuah robot, dan korang rasa laa camne spaceship tu keluar ke space, masuk timewarp, termasuk battlezone, etc etc.
(but honestly, simulation ride kat Sea World lagi best hee)

then ride kedua : Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
A SHOOTING-GAME RIDE FTW XDDD
two-people per car, dan korang akan dibawak masuk ke zone tembak-menembak ngan 'astro blasters' korang (which are kind of like lazer pointers shaped like guns haha) dan korang akan dapat markah!! the final stage mestilah korang kena tembak Zurg the Evil Emperor (Toy Story fans MUST know this) dan lepas korang abes main, performance korang, aka score tembakan korang, akan di-display kat skrin. Azzad (single shooter sebab dia duduk sorang) dapat the highest among us, me & Athif second (the guns were sucky lahhh~ *alasan*) and then Mama & Papa ("pistol de rosak!!" kata Mama).
i liked this ride very much =3

then, ride/attraction : Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

seperti yang korang baca, '3D glasses'.
yes, this is a 3D attraction (not a ride lah since korang duduk je dalam teater tu). korang tau cerita Honey, I Shrunk the Kids? tau? haa, saya taknah tengok pun sebenarnya HAHA *koff* but i get the whole idea of it. Mama kata attraction yang ni, masa Mama ngan Papa pegi dulu, dah ada (zaman student dulu~).
kat sini korang kiranya tengah jadi audience untuk this one science award show, dan somehow all sorts of mishaps happened -- tikus di-multiply dengan banyaknya (mereka lalu kat bawah kaki OMG -- nasib baik Mama bagitau awal, saya dah angkat kaki sebelum show start lagi *cheater*), korang di-shrunk, ular terlepas dari jagaan dan datang nak serang korang -- it'll be awesome only if my 3D-glasses weren't broken HAHAHAAA. tapi still enjoyable lah, altho Mama kata dulu used to be more exciting.

ride : Space Mountain.
indoor lightning-fast roller coaster, korang takkan nampak apa-apa selain little lightbulbs that represent stars, dan yang tu pun korang takde masa nak tengok sebab roller coaster tu sangat SANGAT laju (or was it the music yang buatkan adrenaline rush jadi tak tentu arah?).
just me and Azzad yang naik, since Athif taknak naik extreme rides.
masa beratur tu (the queue was uber-long but it moves pretty fast), bila-bila je ada kereta baru masuk, kalau the passengers tu tepuk tangan, me and Azzad will join in jugak haha. saja bikin huha-huha XD it was interesting really, buat selambe je kan. then bila kitorang dah abes ride tu, we all clapped our hands and applauded (betul ke perkataan ni) for ourselves haha =D

OMG THE FAMOUS SPACE RANGER,
MR BUZZ LIGHTYEAR HIMSELF!!
ni Mama ngan Athif yang jumpa. masa tu saya ngan Azzad tengah beratur nak naik Space Mountain kot.
but after the Honey attraction tu, kitorang ke washroom, dan sementara tunggu Athif ngan Mama kat depan, Buzz Lightyear keluar dari this one room kat seblah washroom, lalu depan saya je, serius!! i was like : terkejut, amused, then jerit kegembiraan kejap (Azzad can testify for this). i dunno why, but i felt extremely happy. too bad dia lalu je, tak berenti pun ngan orang-orang kat area situ.

lepas tu, kebetulan ada show, so of course lah i went to see.
ada some sort of Jedi class for children, wow.
masa 'kelas' tu tengah berlangsung, they were interrupted by --

two Storm Troopers marching in, and stood guard at the...uh, portal...thingy.
which means the arrival of the one, the only --


DARTH VADER!!
(ok like seriously i have to stop using caps)
ni kiranya Mr Heavy-Breathing (lolz) nak convert the good young Jedi jadi evil power-thirst Sith laa.


so, the young Jedi must fight off Mr Vader here, since they're all not power-thirsty yet.
diorang di-instruct oleh that guy to the right.


and guess who Mr Vader brought as help?
the cool-looking Darth Maul, oh yeah.

in the end, goodness prevails, and the two Darths (what does 'Darth' mean anyway?) retreated for another time. the Storm Troopers were like clueless (it's a part of the act), and diorang pun trotted away, leaving the group of young Jedi to victory.
eheheh.

attraction : Innoventions.

o hai Mr Tom Morrow.
(lolz the pun -- get it? Tom Morrow in Tomorrowland? i just got it, to be honest)
your host of the house, and it's sort of creepy how a skeletal-bodied-robot can talk like a real-life person. yes, i am easily creeped out by this sort of stuff.

welcome to the house of the future, Innoventions.
korang akan di-brief a bit by Mr Morrow (altho saya tak dengar sangat pun apa dia terangkan) while you feel the floor underneath you (or around you, depends kat mana korang berdiri) rotate slowly around the building.
in short, rumah tu showcases the most canggih things that could happen to your own house, and really, it'll already be in our homes by now if not for the terribly high prices on them. like a virtual world map on the coffee table. and a 3D mirror (i think). and some other HP and Microsoft stuff (also includes Guitar Hero for the XBox 360, believe it or not).

ride : Finding Nemo Submarin Voyage.

eh, Patrick, buat apa kat sini...?

kat sini korang naik submarine dan ikuti perjalanan mencari Nemo who is lost once again.
ride ni dah wujud like at least masa saya tadika dulu, since i remember riding in a submarine. just the theme bertukar ikut tahun/trend/masa.
it's a good underwater experience, just that no real corals are down there. haha.

ride : Autopia.
trivia : masa ride ni mula-mula dibuka, the US Interstate Highway legislation has yet to be signed by then US President, Mr Eisenhower. kiranya Autopia ni 'the ideal' vision of the highway or something like that.
saya tak berapa thrilled nak naik ni, sebab time tu queue adalah SANGAT panjang, dan time tu tengah panas. but since Athif nak sangat naik, so we just gave in and waited patiently.
i got to be Athif's co-driver (pijak gas since kaki Athif tak sampai).
it was actually fun. you won't get to bump other cars, since the cars are fixed on a track. so it's very safe.

so that concludes our tour of Tomorrowland.

(i guess...since i forgot the order of stuff that we do, so...)

this is apparently a real New Orleans specialty.
forgot what it's called, but it's super nice.

wahaha okay i was hungry, but that was just for picture-taking purpose.
seriously.

ah, after we're done, behind me and Azzad's table ad a group of Japanese girls, and masa diorang tengah makan tu, Azzad terlanggar one of their chairs masa nak buang sampah, so i quickly said to Azzad : "oi mintak maaf cepat!!" and guess what he did?
he said "i'm sorry" with a weird accent.
saya hampir gelak cam orang gila kat situ.

New Orleans Square is mainly comprised of streets with various souvenir shops.
but it's decorated prettily.

ride : Pirates of the Caribbean.

Port Royal, where Elizabeth and Will first encounter the ever-weird Captain Jack Sparrow (well, in the movie at least).

intro to the ride.
this is actually a restaurant -- ada tempat makan kat sini rupanya. it simulates night really perfectly, sampai lupa sebenarnya sekarang tengah late afternoon.

the ride is just showing how a pirate's life is, with a few appearances of Captain Sparrow, funnily. sort of you're brought into a pirate town (One Piece fans, ingat Pekan Lanun) and see how crazy a pirate's life is. the ride tu just a slow ride while you watch all these animatronics act like the pirates they are.

and we went into Frontierland area for a bit.

saja tengok de pass by, nothing too interesting.

lintas balik masuk New Orleans Square, to another ride.
btw, the areas kat sini adalah seamless, meaning takde garisan jelas yang membahagikan area-area kat sini.

ride : Haunted Mansion.
since it's around the time for Christmas, maka the decorations sume bertemakan the Nightmare Before Christmas. hehe.

it was weird, the ride. i thought it'd be scary as hell, but nah. Mama kata dulu lagi takut, sebab there was at one point, masa kereta korang menghadap cermin, tetiba ada 'ghost' in between korang. serius scary okeh. but kali ni takde pulak camtu, wonder why.

then intrude upon Fantasyland area.

fyi, Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite Disney movies, sebab lukisan animasi de sangat cantik. huahaha. Princess Aurora is pretty too. okay that was too much of a give-away.

then into Critter Country area.

ride : Splash Mountain.
tak ingat mana Mama, Papa ngan Athif pegi time ni, but only me and Azzad yang naik this ride. a log flume ride yang akan menjunam turun with splashes and stuff.
the ride tu sebenarnya based on the film Song of the South, dan dalam ride tu ada animatronics of characters from the film, mengikuti Br'er Rabbit dan dua karekter jahat Br'er Fox dan Br'er Bear. i can say that the storyline is kind of twisted...weird.
but the ride (especially the plunge) was funnn.

apparently a lot of people dah tau kat mana kamera, so we could see a lot of weird poses.

area : Adventureland.

ride : Jungle Cruise.
korang dibawa naik bot keliling this one swamp-sort of place, dan luckily orang yang in charge of our boat tu sangatlah lawak. segala yang dia cakap tu are either really intended to be funny, atau memang memorized dialogue. either way it was a fun ride =]

ride : Indiana Jones Adventure : The Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Indiana Jones, who doesn't know him? anyways, ride yang ni agak pening sket sebab kereta tu banyak sangat gerak ke kiri-kanan...hahaha. i wouldn't say really thrilling, tapi ada part yang mana ada satu boulder besar nampak macam AKAN jatuh dan kejar korang dari depan (my thought at that time : "holy --"), memang serius saspen gilaaa. tapi korang dibawak ke 'bawah', kira dapatlah lari dari arah boulder tu.

area : Fantasyland.

ride : Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
basically cerita Pinocchio in ride form. with animatronics of course. by this time, we weren't really in the mood for extreme rides anymore.

ride : Peter Pan's Flight.
also cerita Peter Pan in ride form. with some animatronics too. line nak naik ni serius panjang.
masa beratur tu, a ride across from us -- Snow White's Scary Adventures -- ada tunjuk the Evil Queen at the top of the building. that was wicked.

ride : King Arthur Carousel.
I WANTED TO RIDE ON A MERRY-GO-ROUND FOR SO LONG XDDD *koffkoff*
so...here i got my chance (eheh). Mama je yang tak naik this carousel.
oh, trivia :
- one of the 72 horses on here is a mule (thank you Wikipedia).
- some of the horses kat sini diambil dari beberapa tempat, like the Coney Island's carousel.

ride : Storybook Land Canal Boats.
in short, a boat ride yang membawa korang melihat miniature houses/places yang merupakan tempat-tempat utama dalam beberapa cerita dongeng yang Disney dah animasikan. the miniatures are nice, but the ride was sort of boring...maybe sebab dah malam kot.

of course we had pizza. and pasta.

area : Mickey's Toontown.

area Toontown ni semuanya based on the popular characters of Disney.
so you can see that the design of buildings here are kind of very cartoony.

ride : Gadget's Go-Coaster.
very mild roller-coaster. saya ngan Azzad naik saja untuk hilangkan bosan, and saja untuk tunjukkan kehebatan kitorang lepas tangan from start til end of the ride. haha takde keja.

area : Main Street.
balik ke Main Street sebab biasanya ada fireworks display every night, as far as i know.
so sampai je sana, tengok dah ramai orang berkumpul, so we took our place somewhere between the crowd.

it's cold, it's really cold.
at one point, Papa almost fainted while standing. seriously. thank God nothing else happened.

but lepas sekian lama duduk, dan dah beberapa kali pengumuman pasal kebarangkalian fireworks display di-cancel diumumkan di corong-corong speaker (apekah), maka pihak Disneyland memutuskan untuk tidak membuat fireworks display due to the fact that the winds at the time boleh membuatkan the ongoing fire tu lebih teruk.
disppointed lah wehhh.
ah well. before worse stuff happens, better avoid it eh.

but we weren't ready to go out just yet.
