ah, firstly, sori sebab letak gambar banyak-banyak kat previous post, mesti komputer korang jadi slow gile. but what to do kan, banyak sangat benda nak tunjuk, so...bear with it 'kay.
kali ni nak rant a bit about why i like Malaysia.
bukan sebab dah duduk US baru realize Malaysia is better, but it emphasizes it more.
one : MAKANAN.
this is indisputable. kalau ada orang kata makanan kat US ni lagi best dari Malaysia, that person's tongue must've lost all sense of taste. seriously. sini, being in the West, obviously laa makanan sume generally Western (and Mexican, and maybe Italian, and a bit Japanese) and fast food dominates every corner of the street. maybe sebab dah biasa makan nasik back home, i find the food choices here verrry limited.
i mean, nasik boleh makan ngan macam-macam lauk, lagi pulak nasik ada macam-macam jenis - the possibilities are endless. kalau taknak nasik, ada mi, kuey teow, kuih-muih. segalanya ada laa cabang jenis lain-lain. dah tu boleh prepared style melayu ke, style cina ke, india ke, etc. kat sini? tak payah nak cuba carik. even the fast food pun semua generally sama je. burger, fries, sandwich, sekian terima kasih.
that is why, kitorang dah banyak kali kata, "kalau orang sini pergi Malaysia mesti diorang rasa heaven gile" atau "rindu wehhh makanan Malaysiaaa."
two : LRT/KOMUTER.
well, i know this is limited to maybe KL-Selangor-a bit of Seremban area, but still, it's very convenient. and maybe, like, sini pun sama sebab subway ada kat NY sebab tempat tu sangat busy, tapi kalau ikut nisbah luas KL:Malaysia ngan NY:US, LRT kat Malaysia adalah sangat sangat sangat convenient. yes, i'm being repetitive.
ok i admit, maybe duduk kat Pomona, California ni cam duduk kat somewhere in Perlis, sebab jauh dari ibu negara/tempat termaju in the country (bukan nak kata Perlis mundur!!), tapi at least Perlis tu takde laa besar mana, nak get to the cities boleh naik kereta, takpun motor je, and tak amek masa lama pun. tapi kalau kat California ni, to me at least kena ada laa something like LRT untuk pegi between cities dalam kawasan negeri ni je. yeah sini ada train, tapi rasanya penah tengok mende tu functioning not as frequently as the LRTs back home.
three : MALLS.
well maybe sini punya shopping mall ada lagi banyak brand, but all the malls i've been to since arriving here, aren't as exciting as the ones in Malaysia. sini banyak kedai baju. tempat makan is usually foodcourt je. kedai buku de tak se-best cam kat Malaysia, if there is a kedai buku. kalau kedai game, ada laa at least satu, tapi obviously takde pirated stuff, and takde tunjuk demo game kat luar kedai -- kena masuk kedai baru boleh tengok. wayang? takyah laa -- tak meriah cam kat Malaysia kot. well comparing Pomona je laa, taktau serata US camne lagi, but still. and sini ada kedai kasut yang jual macam-macam jenis, termasuk Converse -- tapi takde kedai Converse sebuah. believe it.
kat Malaysia -- dah laa banyak jenis kedai ada, banyak choice, pirated stuff lagi laa takyah cite. tempat cam Sg Wang tu pun dah kira sangat best.
four : MOBiLE PHONES.
hahahahahahahaaa nak gelak. sape kata phone kat US lagi best dari phone kat Malaysia? the phone plan system sini adalah sangat pening. you pay for a plan, the full price, eve if you don't use the full minute of that plan. dah tu ada plan yang include sms, ada yang tak. kalo kat Malaysia, you pay for what you use only. tak kira laa guna Maxis ke Digi ke Celcom ke. dah tu phone selection kat Malaysia banyak gila yang cantik and high tech, kat sini seriously limited. my phone, SE K800i nih, kira antara yang tercanggih laa kat sini. sebab like when we went to buy our phone plan (T-Mobile, which sucks), the shop lady tu cam sangat amazed/kagum ngan the phone + my fren's phone (a SE Walkman edition).
five : PAPER.
yes, paper. kertas. kualiti kertas kat sini adalah tak besttt. stationeries shop tak banyak choice pulak tu. i don't think they have a lot of Pilot stuff. kalo kat Malaysia, kat memana bookshop, biar cikai camne pun, banyak jugak laa pilihan pen/pensel/etc.
six : HANGOUT PLACE.
hmmm. lemme see, kat Malaysia biasa boleh lepak kat mamak, and ada pulak yang bukak 24 hrs. dah tu kalo kat satu kawasan perumahan tu ada laa dalam 2-3 tempat. kat sini? hahaha. Starbucks (overpriced coffee) closes at 8 pm. i think the malls tutup paling lambat pun 10 pm kot, maybe earlier. mana lagi entah nak melepak. bukan nak kata melepak tu sesuatu yang patut dilakukan oleh semua orang, but, like, say, dah lama tak jumpa member, and midnight je masa free, nak lepak kat mana lagi?
seven : WEATHER.
Malaysia's clothes can be worn all year long.
eight : CUTi.
yes, Malaysia, being a multi-cultural country, ada banyak gile perayaan. dah tu, kalau ada perayaan apa-apa, automatically keadaan sekeliling jadik meriah, tak kira laa duduk kat mana pun. sebab kita raikan perayaan tu sama-sama. or at least sebab gembira nak cuti.
sini ape je perayaan. President's Day, Memorial Day. mende paling best untuk perayaan-perayaan sini : sale. that's it.
see how great Malaysia is compared to US (according to me)?
this might be narrow-minded but i stand for what i believe in (apa kaitan?).
okeh tu je.
